The Office of Mayor William Peduto is currently seeking applicants for board seat(s) on the Building Code Board of Appeals.

The Board of Appeals hears appeals to administrative decisions related to the Uniform Construction Code adopted by the City of Pittsburgh. It is housed in the Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections. The members of this board are appointed by the Mayor and each must be building professionals of certain qualifications, including a structural engineer; a fire protection engineer; a mechanical engineer; an electrical engineer; and a plumber. Appointees do not need to be city residents, though city residency is preferred. The board meets monthly. Commission members serve without compensation.
